Md. Rafiqul Islam is an architect and academic with an interdisciplinary academic background in Architecture, Urbanism, and Landscape Planning, complemented by professional experience in architectural practice and higher education. He holds a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Urbanism and Landscape Planning from KU Leuven, Belgium, and a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).

Academic Experience

Since 2023, Md. Rafiqul Islam has been serving as a Sr. Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Bangladesh University. Prior to this role, he served as a Lecturer in the Department of Architecture from 2017 to 2019 and as a Guest Faculty (Online) in 2021. Through these academic roles, he has contributed to architectural education, student development, design-based learning, and the academic activities of the department.

Alongside his academic engagement, Md. Rafiqul Islam has gained professional experience in architectural practice. From 2017 to 2018, he worked as an Architect at Studio Morphogenesis Ltd., contributing to professional architectural projects and gaining practical experience in design development and project execution.

Earlier, from March 2017 to August 2017, he worked as an Architect Associate (Contractual) at caf-BRTC, BUET. This role provided additional exposure to professional architectural practice within an academic and institutional environment, strengthening his understanding of design, coordination, and project-related processes.
