Mahjabin Ashraf is an architect and academic with an interdisciplinary academic background in Architecture and Urban Planning, complemented by professional experience in architectural design, documentation, and project coordination. She holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Urban Planning from Sheffield Hallam University, Sheffield, UK, and a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch.) from the Department of Architecture, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), Dhaka.

Academic Experience

Since 2019, Mahjabin Ashraf has been serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Bangladesh University. Her academic responsibilities include designing and delivering programs of study at various levels, developing effective teaching techniques and learning materials, and contributing to curriculum development and review. Through her teaching and academic engagement, she contributes to creating a learning environment that encourages students to develop their design thinking, analytical skills, and understanding of contemporary architectural and urban issues. Her academic background in urban planning further enriches her approach to architectural education by connecting architectural design with broader urban and environmental considerations.

Professional Experience

Mahjabin Ashraf has gained valuable professional experience through her involvement in architectural practice. From 2011 to 2012, she worked as an Architect at Saif Ul Haque Sthapati (SHS), Dhaka, where she was involved in the design and documentation of residential projects. Her responsibilities included preparing construction drawings and specifications, providing practical experience in the technical and documentation aspects of architectural projects.

Earlier, from 2009 to 2011, she worked as an Architectural Intern at URBANA, Dhaka. During this period, she contributed to construction documentation, architectural model development, and residential design, while also participating in project coordination meetings. This experience helped establish a strong foundation in architectural design, technical documentation, teamwork, and professional project coordination.
