
Ar. Sefat Sultana
Sr. Lecturer
Ar. Sifat Sultana is an accomplished architect and academic with extensive experience in architectural education, professional practice, public-sector consultancy, and academic administration. She has been associated with Bangladesh University since 2010 and currently serves as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Architecture. She also served as the Acting Head of the Department of Architecture from February 2022 to January 2024, contributing to the academic leadership and development of the department.
Academic Experience
Ar. Sifat Sultana began her academic career at Bangladesh University as a Guest Lecturer in 2010, subsequently serving as a Lecturer and Coordinator of the Department of Architecture. Since March 2013, she has been serving as a Senior Lecturer, contributing to architectural education, studio-based teaching, student development, and departmental activities. Her tenure as Acting Head further strengthened her experience in academic leadership, administration, and departmental development.
Professional Practice
Her professional practice spans private architectural firms as well as public-sector organizations. She has been a Design Architect and Partner at Zuk Architecture & Engineers since June 2011. She also served as a Consultant at the National Housing Authority, Ministry of Housing & Public Works, from April 2022 to November 2024 and as a Project Architect at the Department of Architecture, Ministry of Housing & Public Works, from November 2010 to April 2012.
Earlier in her career, she worked as an Assistant Architect at Shelter Architects & Engineers Ltd., an Architect at Oriental Architects, and an Architect at Cascade Architects. These roles have contributed to her broad professional experience in architectural design, project development, consultancy, and public-sector architectural initiatives.

Ar. Sifat Sultana is associated with several professional and development-oriented organizations. Her national affiliations include the Institute of Architects, Bangladesh (IAB), Membership No. S-115, Bangladesh Poribesh Andolon (BAPA), and the Women Architects Engineers Planners Association (WAEPA), Bangladesh.
Internationally, she is affiliated with the Swedish International Centre of Education for Sustainable Development (SWEDESD).
