
Mst. Rokeya Khatun
Associate Professor
Mst. Rokeya Khatun is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at Bangladesh University (BU). She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). She holds an M.Sc. in Engineering in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from BUET and a B.Sc. in Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). With extensive experience in teaching and academic administration, she has developed expertise in computer programming, web development, database technologies, software frameworks, and engineering simulation tools.
Academic Experience
Mst. Rokeya Khatun has been serving at Bangladesh University since October 2012, progressing from Lecturer to Assistant Professor and subsequently to Associate Professor. She has been serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of CSE at BU since November 2025, following more than 13 years of service as an Assistant Professor from October 2012 to November 2025. Prior to joining BU, she served as a Lecturer at International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) for four years. She also served as a Lecturer in the Department of CSE at Bangladesh University for approximately one and a half years.
Professional Practice
Her professional expertise encompasses programming languages including C, C++, Java, and Python, along with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, XML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and PHP. She has practical knowledge of Oracle, SQL, and MySQL database technologies, as well as CodeIgniter, WordPress, and Joomla frameworks and content management systems. Her technical proficiency also includes engineering and simulation tools such as MATLAB, FEMLAB, and COMSOL Multiphysics, in addition to MS Office, Photoshop, and Filmora. These skills support her teaching and academic activities across software development, programming, databases, web technologies, and computational applications.
Professional Development
Mst. Rokeya Khatun has participated in a range of professional workshops and training programs related to inclusive education, academic quality, teaching methodologies, learning, and assessment. Her professional development includes international workshops on the Inclusive Education Toolkit organized by AIUB, Jahangirnagar University, BUET, and Nottingham Trent University, UK, held in June and October 2025. She also completed training on Compliance of the Bangladesh National Qualifications Framework (BNQF) and Effective Teaching, Learning, and Assessment, organized by the Bangladesh Accreditation Council in January 2023. Earlier, she completed Foundation Training on Teaching Method at Bangladesh University in October 2013, Teaching Methods and Techniques training organized by the Graduate Training Institute (GTI) in February–March 2014, and PHP Basic to CodeIgniter Framework training organized by Bdjobs Training from June to September 2012.
