Message from the Vice Chancellor (in-charge)
What we see new as BU is an end result of a tireless and unyielding efforts of a group of dedicated souls led by its visionary founder late Quazi Azher Ali, an eminent social reformer, ex secretary to the Govt. of Bangladesh. With a continuous endeavor since 2001,the management of the university makes it happen to exalt it as a centre of excellence for higher education in Bangladesh. With this hort span of only 12 years the increase of students is recorded from 12 to 4100 so far, with a sharp increasing trend. We have developed it in every academic and non-academic spheres including start of classes at its permanent campus located at Adabar,Mohammadpur.
Now, Bangladesh University offers courses of Bachelor and Master degrees in 17 programs under 10 departments belonging to 3 faculties with every modern facility needed for imparting quality education. These Undergraduate and Graduate programs draw on 110 extra ordinary award winning faculty members to impart knowledge to prepare them intellectual and professional leaders of future.
Bangladesh University is set up with a vision to develop and nurture talents with modern knowledge to meet the national and global need ensuring a knowledge based society extending its focus on high standard quality education, innovation, discovery, research and creative activities which will help generate capable ethical leaders.
The mission it takes is fully driven out of a missionary zeal as it is very keen to ensure higher education at a minimum cost especially for the financially backward group of people. So, it becomes a model of non-profit pioneering centre of excellence in the field of higher education. Every member including its President is honorary. They are just serving it out of charity and commitment to the country
Bangladesh University is committed to its vision excellence and service to deliver its best for the holistic development of its students with special attention to expand information technology to build up a digital Bangladesh. Students admission, examination, Personnel management along with accounting system are brought under digital management. Through video conference a man from any corner of the world can know directly about the University.
We have stepped into a new millennium. Our dream is to build up such a university that can serve the demands and aspiration of the nation to cope with this current millennium. BU has given much emphasis on need oriented and technology based education like Business Administration, Architecture, EEE, Pharmacy and CSE. Simultaneously emphasis is also given and Social Science and Law. We are committed to explore the talents, potentials and extraordinary creative force of the prospective young learners, and to inspire and encourage them with a view to building our dear motherland a prestigious nation in the globe. We are accumulating all the strength and resources available today with a vision of exploring tomorrow’s possibilities.
